Abstract

An instrument for oxygen partial pressure measurement constructed around a sealed zirconia oxygen pump-gauge sensor operated in the ac mode is described. By appropriate signal processing of the gauge output the oxygen partial pressure inside the sensor, P 0, was determined and maintained constant via a feedback loop. The measurement of the oxygen partial pressure in the sample gas, P 1, was made potentiometrically relative to this controlled internal reference.
