Abstract

In Structure various load are accompanied in the form dead load, live load, wind load and Earthquake load. Except dead load all other loads frequently varying. Due to which internal forces are developed in the form of axial force, shear force and bending moments and twisting moment these internal forces are distributed in the cross section of beam as stress and accompanied with strain. Measurement of strain is used in real time force estimation. In this paper a systematic theology is been developed for internal force measurement in a structure. By knowing the strain at any three position a strain-plane relation established and internal force is predicted and compared with applied forces. Finite element analysis is carried out for validation purpose. Error in the prediction of internal force for linear analysis is not more than 1.5 percent where as in nonlinear analysis is not more than 2.94 percent.
