Abstract

Abstract Chromatographic columns filled with powder of Linde Na-13X crystals were used to measure diffusions coefficients of benzene and various alkyl benzenes in the temperature range of 553 to 673 K. The influence of the carrier gas pressure (N 2 ) was tested by increasing the latter to as much as 140 bar. Finally, the concentration dependence of the diffusion coefficient of benzene was determined at 573 and 598 K. The activation energies of diffusion and the sorption enthalpies at infinite dilution showed a noticable correlation.
