Abstract
We investigate the feasibility of using an array of non-invasive tomographic sensors around a moving conveyor belt carrying solid particulates. Results from experimental and simulated data show the importance of the position of electrode placement and the effect of the properties of the conveyor belt material itself. Use of the measurements to provide a continuous measurement of powder profile, surface fractal dimension, voidage, through time integration, and mass hold up is discussed.
