Abstract
Renewable energy penetration is increasing day by day in India. As the generation increases, there must be some guidelines required to confirm the quality of power generated by these energy generations. In India, Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has come up with the guidelines for mandatory monitoring of power quality parameters and its report submission to the utility once in a year for the renewable energy systems interconnected at the point of interconnection [1]. This paper focuses on understanding of the guidelines, power quality parameters (including harmonics, flicker and DC current injection), measurement methodology as per the standard, instruments required for the measurement and its limit comparison with the standard mentioned by the CEA. Also the paper focuses on the type of generations covered under the guidelines.
