Abstract
The cost of accurately cast press molds at the Kiev Plant will be 560 rubles where the same press mold previously cost 1200 rubles. The surfaces of the cast press molds of class 5 roughness (State Standard 2789-73) will be brought up to class 8 by polishing while still keeping the cast structure of the surface layer. The fine-grain structure of the surface layer of the accurately cast press molds helps to improve their resistance by 1.8-2-fold over the press molds in which the surface layer has been improved by mechanical treatment.
