Abstract

The article focuses on research into factors impacting the onset of autumn. It states that ecologists Trevor Keenan and Andrew Richardson analyzed around 20 years of observations of tree foliage from two New England forests, combined with 13 years of satellite data of foliage in the eastern U.S. which found the timing of spring impacted when leaves change color. It comments that the data suggests longer seasons caused by global warming would not result in trees capturing more carbon dioxide.
