Abstract

A novel maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control method based on controller parameters self-modification for interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM) drives applied in electric vehicles is presented in this paper. With the adoption of feedforward decoupling compensation, the flux and inductance errors between the nominal value and the actual value are modified. Then the current angle of MTPA can be calculated precisely. The proposed method is simple and easy to be transplanted. Compared with the virtual signal injection control method, the proposed method obtains the same steady-state accuracy of the MTPA control, and obviously improves the dynamic performance in the meantime. On these basis, the experiments are carried out on a 20 kW IPMSM drive system. And the feasibility and effectiveness are verified by the results.
