Abstract
This paper proposes a maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control method based on V/f control for the Interior Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor (IPMSM). The V/f control is inherently a position sensorless method. Therefore it is simpler than the conventional methods such as the sensorless vector control method. In addition, the MTPA control can be achieved by controlling the reactive power without the information of magnet pole position. The proposed MTPA control achieves high efficiency because the copper loss can be reduced. In this paper, the proposed method is demonstrated by the by the experiments. Then, the output current can be reduced by 76 % in compared to the V/f control without MTPA. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by experimental results.
