Abstract
Statement of the Problem: The relationship between reparative or central giant cell lesions of the maxillofacial (MF) skeleton and giant cell tumors occurring in the axial and appendicular (AA) skeletons has been long debated, with some authors concluding that these lesions represent distinct pathological entities. The purpose of this study was to compare the phenotypic, clinical, radiographic and histopathologic characteristics of subjects with MF and AA giant cell lesions in order to settle this controversy.
