Abstract

This paper describes materials problems involved in the preparation of lithium-drifted germanium gamma-ray detectors. A comparison is made of gallium- and indium-doped germanium (both good and bad drifters). Furthermore, heat-treated gallium-doped material is compared with heat-treated material with lithium present.
