Abstract

India being a country with diversity and pluralistic society contains various ethnic groups who follow and practice their faiths and beliefs. It is obvious that these ethnic groups and tribes have their traditions and values and they abide by them for their survival. In social settings also, it is relevant that they follow their traditional value system which binds them together. Marriage is one of the social ritual which they follow and based on their values and beliefs, different systems and processes are followed by the families of bride and grooms. This chapter deals with various such traditions followed by the tribals in India.
