Abstract
This study deals with Martin Luther‘s doctrine in relation to the interpretation of divine justice in the religious and theological thought of his time. It is interesting to show that the reformer‘s originality is based on the utilization of an essentially Catholic doctrine, manipulation, and biblical interpretation conducted through particular theological strategies. Our work takes distance from the sad man abandoned by God that history has considered as one of the greatest opponents to human free will. On the contrary, the present paperfocuses on a young university student –son of his epoch– that was able to find an explanation through tradition –Saint Paul and Saint Augustin– of what should be the real essence of the divine law and the sense of love and will that should be taught among his contemporary fellows.
