Abstract

Objective: To describe the results obtained with MARPE in Young adult patients in terms of Intermolar width, transverse nasal cavity width, complications and other results informed. Method: An analysis of the published literature was carried out according to Prisma guidelines using Pubmed, SCIELO, Science Direct, Scopus, Information system on gray literature in Europe, Latin American and Caribbean literature in Health Sciences, Google Academic, in addition to a manual search of books and scientific articles. The full articles were analyzed and after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 9 studies were analyzed. Results: The literature indicates that MARPE increases inthermolar width and transverse nasal cavity width. Periodontal and dentoalveolar reported complications are not conclusive. Conclusion: MARPE could be a clinically viable and effective treatment for young adult patients with transverse maxillary deficiency.
