Abstract

In many respects the Outreach Program at Mississippi State University Libraries provides an excellent framework for the marketing of reference services and resources. It is often the close, long-term collaboration between academic faculty and reference librarians, however, that makes the discovery of crucial information needs possible. In-depth interviews with strategically selected faculty and continuous feedback provide the basis of effective planning for reference services and a wise marketing strategy.
