Abstract
In this discussion I am interested in exploring what Margaret Cavendish means when she speaks of “the Jews’ Cabbala,” and what she read that may have helped to inform her understanding. I also want to show how the spirits with whom the empress of The Blazing World conversed aided her in the articulation of a cabbala of the imagination. For the purposes of this paper I will restrict myself to Observations upon Experimental Philosophy and The Description of a New World, Called the Blazing World, published together in 1666.
