Abstract
Research work of the French CSTB involves the effect of reinforcement set in the joints of hollow masonry walls current in France. After reviewing the main results achieved in hollow brick masonry, the paper shows more recent results concerning concrete hollow block masonry, in particular bent elements, beams, lintels, thin beams, subject to a stress in their plan. This work will be continued by testing walls subject to stresses perpendicular to their plan.
