Abstract

The Negative Neutral Beam Iniector (NNBI) cryosorption pump's radiation baffles and cryopanels need separately to be cooled down or warmed up in the process of pumping gas and regeneration. The thermal cycle of radiation baffles and cryopanels mainly performed 80-420K and 5-420K, respectively. It is necessary to ensure that there is no risk of leakage during the thermal cycle. The manufacturing processes for key components of NNBI cryosorption pumps are discussed. The cryopanles were decided to made by laser welding of the stainless steel pipe and the copper plate. The radiation baffles were composed of steel-aluminum composite by vacuum pressure impregnation. The results show that the structural performance of the components was still stable after 10 thermal shocks and no obvious cracks in the metallurgical microscope observation. These findings can guide the manufacturing process of NNBI cryosorption pumps.
