Abstract

Rock art data related to the Estilo Rio (sensu Bate 1970, 1971) from sites located along the Gallegos river basin is introduced. Frequency and diversity of motifs, the selection of supports and the conservation status of the paintings are analized. Then, this evidence is integrated within a supra-regional scale in the Pali Aike Volcanic Field (Argentina) and in relation to the Chico River and the region of Ultima Esperanza (Chile), in order to evaluate processes of landscape occupation and recognize movement and interaction strategies of population. For this were considered the dispersion of rock art classes and tonal series that were executed.
