Abstract

Model of Sustainable food home region (MKRPL) is a program provided by the government to improve food and nutrition needs of the family. This study aims to determine (1) the level of household food security program participants and non-participants MKRPL (2) the factors that affect the level of household food security (3) MKRPL program benefits in improving household food security. The research was conducted in the village of Pancasila District Natar of South Lampung. Samples were all households MKRPL program participants were 30 households while the non-participant sample were 30 households were taken with simple random sampling. Household food security be based on the share of food expenditure. Factors that affect food security and benefits MKRPL program in improvingfood security in the binary logit analysis. The results showed that: (1) food security of households in the village of Pancasila District of Natar are included in the program participants are the criteria MKRPL food secure by 53,33% and 46,67% of non-resistant food while non-participants in the program are resistant MKRPL amounting to 30.00% of food and non food security of 70.00%. (2) Factors that influence the level of household food security is the amount of household members, the price of rice, and the price of eggs. (3)KRPL program useful in fulfilling the needs of the vegetables in the rainy season, but have not been could improve the food security of its members.Keywords: food security, household, MKRPL program.
