Abstract
The aim of this paper is to show the mode of operation, implementation, and also management challenges of public-private partnership in the field of waste management. Public-private partnership has created partnership between local company ECOVISION, with foreign capital (Austrian) and the Municipalities of Gjilane, Vitia and Kamenica through regional company "Higjiena", establishing a new company "Eco-higjiena", with private ownership of 51%, while the public partner with 49%.Since the beginning of this partnership, the whole process has had its challenges in the normal functioning of the company as well as its positive impact, because this company in the last year has achieved positive results for the first time in its history. The management of this partnership is a good example on how a partnership may face challenges, especially in transition countries such as Kosovo.
