Abstract
Psoriasis is an inflammatory condition which manifests in the skin and joints. Psoriasis can affect children and young people; the late teens and early twenties are a peak time for psoriasis developing for the first time. Psoriasis can affect quality of life in children and young people. Nurses can support children, young people and their families in managing psoriasis, supporting and educating on general skin and joint care and topical treatments to manage the condition. Psoriasis treatments for children and young people often have licensing restrictions, but National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines on the assessment and management of psoriasis give guidance on all treatments for psoriasis.
