Abstract

Academy of Management Annual Meeting Proceedings includes abstracts of all papers and symposia presented at the annual conference, plus 6-page abridged versions of the “Best Papers” accepted for inclusion in the program (approximately 10%). Papers published in the Proceedings are abridged because presenting papers at their full length could preclude subsequent journal publication. The symposium Initiating and Supporting Change in Times of Change will address these issues of change from different angles, from different perspectives and in different industries as well as different national contexts. One set of questions concerns initiating and implementing sustainable change within the context of change. Another set of questions concerns the means for change in organizations composed of knowledge workers who expect to be involved and who may be non-co-located. The goal of Latest in Appreciative Inquiry (AI): New Horizons for the Theory and Practice of Positive Change is to create a symposium in which the audience can both learn about new horizons in AI and experience AI in action. The purpose of the symposium Developing Executive Leaders in Contemporary Corporations: The Status Quo and New Directions is to explore how corporations in North America are approaching the task of developing a new generation of leaders and leadership pools. A key assumption made by the symposium participants is that the role of the individual executive in guiding and informing their own development is paramount.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Vol. 2003, No. 1 Permissions Metrics in the past 12 months History Published online 13 December 2017 Published in print 1 August 2003 InformationCopyright of Academy of Management Journal is the property of Academy of Management and its content may not be copied or emailed to multiple sites or posted to a listserv without the copyright holder’s express written permission.
