Abstract
ABSTRACT Successfully implementing Internet access for the public's use in a public library requires careful planning and a commitment of both staff and financial resources. It also requires a new look at materials access and selection policies and procedures and the library's collection development process. Public libraries offering Internet access should have an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and specific procedures for patrons' use of the Internet service. The use of the Internet should be integrated into the library's collection development process and into the library's day-to-day operations.
