Make room for clinical supervision: using an educational DVD resource

Abstract

While there is a collection of useful texts on clinical supervision for nurses and allied health professionals, there does not appear to be a DVD resource demonstrating how to engage in clinical supervision. In response to findings from a recent audit, a small group of staff collaborated on the development of a DVD educational resource. The DVD aims to provide description, explanation and demonstation of the nuts and bolts of how to do clinical supervision so that staff can engage in a useful way, and with adequate self-confidence. This article provides a description of, and rationale for, the contents of the DVD.
