Abstract

Fasciola hepatica (adult worms)were fixed by the Rossman technique to localize a partially purified proteinase (PPP) from the flukes. Cross and longitudinal sections from paraffine embedded parasites were performed. After microtome sectioning, the slices were incubated with immunized mouse serum or infected human serum. The following step was staining with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) labelled anti-mouse IgG or anti-human IgG. A positive reaction to the epithelium lining the caecum was observed with the primary antibodies
