Abstract

‘Maintenance’ can mean different things to different people. Where the law is concerned in the use of plant and machinery, the courts may interpret ‘maintenance’ and its cognates in ways which need to be understood by engineers. Some key legal cases and statutes on the question of maintenance are reviewed and their effects and implications discussed.
