Abstract
The present work deals with a study of thermal shock response in magneto thermoelastic medium based on memory dependent derivative under the purview of coupled theory, Lord-Shulman theory and Green–Lindsay theory of generalized thermoelasticity. By implementing the eigenfunction expansion method, the analytical results for the temperature field, displacement and stresses are obtained in the Laplace-Fourier transform domain. The inversions of Laplace and Fourier transform are executed, applying Honig Hirdes method and Gaussian quadrature formula. Some comparison study is equipped for the displacements, temperature and thermal stress distributions in the space–time domain and is exhibited graphically. The results indicate that the presence of memory dependent derivative, the effect of thermal shock, magnetic field, time delay parameter and different forms of kernel function on the thermoelastic medium is very significant.
