Abstract
Electric currents exert magnetic forces on each other. Electric currents and magnetic forces are described by Ampère’s law of force, which is a fundamental law in magnetostatics. The term magnetostatics implies that forces and currents are all time-invariant. Magnetic forces are represented in terms of magnetic flux densities. The magnetic flux densities and electric currents are related by the Biot-Savart law, Ampère’s law, and magnetic vector potential. All these formulas in magnetostatics are related to Ampère’s law of force.KeywordsSteady currentsOhm’s lawAmpère’s lawMagnetic fieldVector potentialTorquesPoisson’s equation
