Abstract

Magnetic properties of LiGaCr4O8 and LiInCr4O8 compounds in spinel structure are investigated by Monte Carlo study (MCS). The magnetocaloric effect and its correlation with structure and magnetism in the two systems have been studied using the MCS for two systems. The magnetization, magnetic susceptibly, magnetic entropy, relative cooling power (RCP) and magnetic hysteresis cycle are found. The two systems show a magnetocaloric effect (MCE) at the magnetic ordering temperature and short and long orders a high and low temperature, respectively. The values of relative cooling power and maximum of magnetic entropy change increase with increasing the values of extremal magnetic field.
