Abstract

The mixed metal oxalate bridged compounds NBu4MAIInFeII1–n[FeIII(ox)3](MA = Mn, Zn) were investigated by magnetic measurements. The temperature dependence of the compounds NBu4ZnIInFeII1–n[FeIII(OX)3] (n = 0. 04, 0·08, 0·10) shows two temperature compensation points in the temperature range of 32–41·5 K and multiple magnetic pole reversals are observed in the material. When n≧0·1 the temperature compensation point disappears, the value of M increases and exhibits weak irreversibility in the field cooled (FC) magnetisation curves. At the same time, spin glass state is founded below 35 K and the bifurcation of the zero field cooled and FC plots below the Neel temperature of 30 K indicates irreversibility. At the Neel temperature of 39·9 K, a compensation temperature and a spin canting are observed in the compound NBu4FeII0·97MnII0·03[FeIII(OX)3].
