Abstract
In recent years, magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have demonstrated marked progress in some research fields, including these innovative composite formations with much other metal oxides, one of these is silica. This paper presents a review of magnetic silica nanocomposites (MSNCs) and the functionalized forms for environmental and medical applications. Some aspects of the composite‘s synthesis, structural and magnetic properties are responsible for controlled features in such adsorption, catalysis, photocatalysis and drug delivery agents. The magnetic properties give advantageous are mainly related to recyclability and easy separation. Furthermore, the future perspectives and challenges of MSNCs in both fields are also discussed.
