Abstract

Low-temperature magnetic properties, curie temperature and crystallization temperature of rapidly quenched Nd 4(Fe 1− x Si x ) 77.5B 18.5 (0⩽ x⩽0.12) alloys are investigated. The substitution of Si atoms for Fe atoms has a remarkable influence on the magnetic properties and thermal stability. As the Si content increases, the saturation magnetization and magnetic moment of the Fe atom decrease, while Curie temperature and crystallization temperature increase. The influence of Si atom on the magnetic properties and crystallization behavior is discussed.
