Abstract

We analyze here the possible types of magnetic order and the high-frequency properties in compounds with the R 2CuO 4 structure, where R is a rare-earth ion. An explanation in terms of experimentally observable structures and spin-reorientation phase transitions in Nd 2CuO 4 will be presented. Natural inversion of the exchange and acoustic magnetic modes in the present type of structures is predicted.
