Abstract

AbstractFe(0) microclusters have been isolated in a zeolite matrix. The magnetization isotherm at 4.2 K has been analyzed in terms of a sum of Brillouin functions corresponding to a distribution of cluster sizes. Each function represented a fraction of individual clusters with total cluster spin quantum number (N · S). The (N · S)‐value of clusters with an average of 7 atoms per cluster was found to be 4.
