Abstract

Polarised neutron diffraction has been used to determine the magnetic form factor and the induced moments on the hexagonal and cubic sites of neodymium, for a field applied along the c -direction. When combined with earlier measurements performed with a field in the basal plane [1], the uniaxial anisotropy coefficents B 2 0 could be evaluated. We find B 2 0 (hex)= 0.064(±0.005) meV; B 2 0 (cub) = 0.010(±0.005) meV.
