Abstract

Polarised neutron diffraction has been used to determine the magnetic form factor and the induced moments on the hexagonal and cubic sites of neodymium, for a field applied along the c-direction. When combined with earlier measurements performed with a field in the basal plane [1], the uniaxial anisotropy coefficents B20 could be evaluated. We find B20(hex)= 0.064(±0.005) meV; B20(cub) = 0.010(±0.005) meV.
