Abstract

ABSTRACT Computation of magnetic fields, magnetization currents and losses in nonlinear anisotropic ferromagnetics is described. It is based on a finite element analysis of stationary magnetic fields to determine differential inductances used in equation for the excitation current. Ferromagnetic losses are given by the sum of elementary losses determined from the time dependences of the square of magnetic induction in the elements and its harmonic analysis. The computed magnetic fields, time shapes of steady state and transient magnetisation currents and losses in an anisotropic annulus were verified with good results by measurements in a broad voltage range.
