Abstract

In this paper, we applied a magnetic field in multiple directions to a Bi2223/Ag tape and measured the transport current and magnetization losses in each position using the four terminal and pickup coil methods. We rotated the tape face and the tape axis to the ac magnetic field by 15° segments. We report the magnetic field direction dependence of ac losses. When the magnetic field direction is parallel to the tape face and the tape axis is rotated in the magnetic field, each magnetization loss shows a crossing point. When the magnetic field is not parallel, the magnetization losses are increased as the angle of the tape axis to the magnetic field increases. We compared the total losses with additions of the transport current loss without the magnetic field and the magnetization loss without transport current in multiple magnetic field directions, and these results did not correspond.
