Abstract
The magnetic field dependence of the attenuation of ultrasonic shear waves in a potassium single crystal in a transverse magnetic field was found to be in agreement with the free electron theories of ultrasonic attenuation. The Fermi momentum was found to be 7.75 × 10 -20 g cm/sec
