Abstract

In the less chlorite-rich slates from the Borrowdale Volcanic Group, chlorite magnetic fabric almost corresponds to fabric resulting from deformation following the March-Fernandez model. But chlorite grain rotation could be related to the first stages of the tectonic deformation in the other slates, the chlorite grains probably impinging after these stages upon one another and a simple grain rotation mechanism being therefore no longer possible.
