Abstract

We present results of a specific heat and magnetization study of PrCuAl and NdCuAl. PrCuAl orders antiferromagnetically below T N = 7.9 K. The magnetic behaviour of NdCuAl is more complex. Our experiments reveal the ordering temperature of 18 K and indications of magnetic ordering characterized by a coexistence of ferro- and antiferromagnetic components of Nd moments.
