Abstract

An organic ferromagnetic fullerene complex was prepared based on C 60 with tetrakisdimethylaminoethylene (TDAE). Temperature dependent X-band ESR measurements on the TDAE-C 60 samples show strong single-line spectra without any hint to a hyperfine splitting. Magnetization measurements indicate ferromagnetic ordering below 16 K in all investigated TDAE-C 60, samples. After leaving TDAE-C 60) powder in a sealed quartz tube with He for 8 weeks the zero-field magnetization strongly increased. Typical extrinsic magnetic properties characterizing a ferromagnetic material such as hysteresis, coercivity and remanence were found at low temperatures.
