Abstract

We report on the growth and magnetic and electrical transport properties of perovskite-type EuTi1−xNbxO3 thin films (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.1). Single-phase epitaxial thin films with smooth interfaces were grown on SrTiO3 and (LaAlO3)0.3(Sr2AlTaO6)0.7 single-crystalline substrates by pulsed laser deposition. While the thin films with x = 0 and 0.01 exhibit an antiferromagnetic and insulating behavior, a ferromagnetic and metallic behavior is observed for the thin films with x = 0.05 and 0.1. Temperature-variable resistivity data for the metallic films show a kink at the Curie temperature, indicating a clear correlation between magnetic and transport properties.
