Abstract
Our detailed measurements show the undoped double perovskite Ba 2+ 2Pr 3+Ru 5+O 2− 6 to be a nonmetallic (insulating) spin glass (SG) and the ∼5–10% Cu-doped (i.e., Cu-concentration/(Cu+Ru-concentration) ∼5–10%) system to be a spin glass superconductor (SGSC), though the critical temperature, T c, (∼8–11 K) and the superconducting volume fraction, f sc, (∼1–4%) are small. This smallness is presumably due to the presence of a large number of pair breaking spins and small carrier concentration in the lattice. Results and their implications are discussed.
