Abstract

The galvanomagnetic Hall effect, magnetoresistance and torque curves were used to investigate rf-sputtered CoPt films of different thicknesses. Rotational anisotropy was observed in the plane of the film for certain samples. The influence of this anisotropy on the anomalous Hall effect and the magnetoresistance was studied by varying the strength and direction of the field.
