Abstract

The first commercial system to use magnetically levitated vehicles for public transport is being commissioned at Birmingham. It will carry passengers after April 1984 between the new Birmingham Airport terminal and the Birmingham International railway station. The developments that led up to this new type of transport are outlined and the system is described
