Abstract
The study about the forms of code-mixing based on the element of language in elementary school students has beenconducted. The code of the language is divided into five types, namely: 1) code-mixing in the form of words, 2) code-mixing inthe form of basters, 3) code-mixing in the form of idioms, 4) code-mixing in the form of phrases, and 5) code-mixing in the formof clauses. Code-mixing found in the narrative essay of elementary school students in Jember, Indonesia indicate that the codemixingincorporates the Madurese language (local language) in Indonesian sentences. The data is derived from the student's dailytask, which proves that the student's narrative essay contains code-mixing.
