Abstract

Abstract An electric method for investigation of nonpolar states of crystals is proposed. The method is based on recording an electric field produced by the macroscopic quadrupole moment. Application of the method for study of ferroelastic, nonferroelastic, incommensurate phases and plastic deformation is considered.
