Abstract

AbstractMacronet isoporous polystyrene structures are obtained by cross‐linking of dissolved polystyrene by means of bischloromethylated benzene or biphenyl. Macronet isoporous cation exchangers, irrespective of the type and amount of cross‐linking agents, can be completely saturated with the tetrabutylammonium ions. The swelling capacity of resins containing a sufficient amount of cross‐linking bridges is independent of the type of the counter‐ions and of the ionic strength of the outer electrolyte solution. These resins can be used in nonaqueous solvents.
